UNAKKA CHEMMEEN CHAMANTHI | DRIED PRAWNS CHUTNEY

Previous Recipe:  STRAWBERRY PARFAIT

Today I am going to make my husbands favorite chutney. When ever I get tired after work I prefer making chutney, and if I tell my husband what I am about to prepare, he would yell out Chemmeen Chamanthi. He just loves it. Dried Prawns Chutney also know at my house and in Kerala as Unakka Chemmeen Chamanthi is a delicious side dish that goes along with rice, boiled tapioca, colocasia, etc. I stumbled upon dried prawns while walking through the store to find banana leaves for Ela Ada (banana leaf rice cake) and got excited seeing this instead. This is every Keralites favorite dish.

This Chamanthi is real quick to make and at the same time very quick to finish too. So, if you do have family eating with you, make sure you take a scoop and leave some in the kitchen for you (I am only joking...unless you think this is best). This dish runs out real quick and by the time you reach out for seconds it will all be gone. That is how good it is.
