CHERRY PARFAIT








Cherry Parfait is one of the best and quick breakfast dishes. We consider cherry as a cute fruit that kids as well as adults just love to eat (consider me as one of those kids, I totally am in love with this fruit). But cherry should not just be know for only its cuteness, it should mainly be know for its health benefits. Now a days all we think about is the taste (not that it is wrong), but we must focus mostly on the benefits.


Did you know Cherry reduces belly fat? Well it does. Did you know this fruit contains compounds that can be used to prevent cancer? Well it does have. Did you know this fruit lowers the risk of getting a stroke and is also a relief for arthritis pain? It is true. Did you also know it is good for healthy sleep? Well it is. 
So it is not all about taste. Next time you plan to prepare or eat a dish, just for your understanding check out the benefits (I do not always do this, but will from now on).


INGREDIENTS



Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 20-25 mins
Serves: 2-3




  • Fresh Cherries                - 10-15
  • Granola                       - 1 cup
  • Sugar                         - 2 tsp
  • Low Fat Vanilla/ Greek Yogurt - 1 cup
METHOD OF PREPARATION STEP BY STEP

1.Clean and remove pits and chop the cherries into bite size pieces.

2.Heat a sauce pan over medium heat. Add sugar and chopped cherries and bring it to a boil and simmer it for few minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool completely before you top.

4.To assemble the parfait place a thick layer of vanilla/ greek yogurt first, then top with a layer of cherry mixture. Then add a layer of granola. Repeat the steps for 2-3 times. Top with cherries.
