MARBLE POUND CAKE

Hi there,

Welcome to AmmasKitchenDaily.....
Today I will be blogging about Marble Pound Cake. Most of the time in Kerala when someone goes to a friends, family or another persons home, usually they bring some kind of bakery items for them and marble pound cake is on top of the list. Everyone in my hometown considers this the best cake ever. Wish I could show my mom this cake I made, she would be so amazed because back in Kerala most of the homes in my town even mine usually buy this cake from the store. The preparation of this cake is very simple and easy. What I have learned making this cake is that without passion and a lot of love, one cannot make it taste perfect.

Let us go ahead and start making the Marble Pound Cake.

METHOD OF PREPARATION STEP BY STEP

1.Preheat the oven at 350 degree for 15 minutes and grease the pan. Take two bowls, In one bowl combine flour and baking powder and in the other bowl softened butter and sugar.

2.Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in eggs one at a time and beat well on medium speed. Then add vanilla extract and stir.

3.Add in all purpose flour in three portions and combine well by adding milk  occasionally in between on a low speed till it gets smooth and creamy.

4.Pour 1/3rd of batter into another bowl and
add cocoa powder into that batter. Beat it on low speed until it is well combined.

5. Alternatively spoon in vanilla and chocolate batter into the greased pan. With a spoon/ Knife, cut through the batter to obtain the effects of a marble.

6. Bake it in the oven for 45 mins or if a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean. Once done, set it aside to cool completely and use a knife through the edges to get the cake out of the baking pan.
